Start here: set up your organization
The recommended order for an owner setting up TruStar Connect for the first time.
Welcome to TruStar Connect. This guide lays out the fastest path from an empty account to a fully running safety program. Each step builds on the one before it, so working top to bottom saves backtracking.
Follow this order
- 1Set your organization profile
Add your business name, upload your logo, and choose your default time zone. Your logo flows through to PDFs and QR posters, and the time zone keeps submission timestamps accurate.
- 2Build your structure: clients, sites, then projects
Add clients first, then the sites where work happens, then the projects that run on those sites. Projects attach to a site, so create sites before projects.
- 3Set up your training program
Create the courses and certifications you track, then create positions and attach the courses each position requires. This is what powers the training matrix later.
- 4Invite your team and set access
Invite people, give each one a role, set who they report to, assign them to projects, and give them positions. Their positions decide which training they need.
- 5Start collecting safety data
Put up observation QR posters, build or scan your inspection forms, and run investigations when incidents happen. Corrective actions, tasks, and analytics flow from here automatically.
Nothing here is permanent. Add a site next week, change a role, or adjust a training requirement any time. This order just gets you running with the least rework.
If you run commercial vehicles
Turn Fleet on in Organization settings at step one and the rest of the setup covers your trucks as it goes: your units are the same records as your equipment, and your drivers are the same people you invite. It is included in every plan and stays hidden until you turn it on, so nobody who only runs crews sees trucking screens. Setting up Fleet has the whole path.
Tip. Doing a quick demo? You can skip straight to building a form or printing an observation poster, then circle back to structure and people once you see how it fits together.
