Organization settings
The Settings hub: an overview of where your organization stands, and seven areas that hold everything an owner or admin can change.
Settings is where an owner or admin shapes the organization. It opens on an Overview — a status board rather than a form — and everything you can change sits in one of seven areas, picked from the rail on the left (a row of chips on a phone). Each area has its own address, so a link from a guide, an email or Tru lands on exactly the right one.
The Overview
One tile per area with its key numbers, and a row of flags at the top for anything that needs you. A flag is a fixed check, not a setting: invitations expiring this week, an item type with no approver, two-step sign-in still optional, an HR sync that failed, seats nearly used up, a position that requires no training, telematics not connected. Tap a flag or a tile to open the area that fixes it. The rail shows a count on any area with a flag, so the nudge is visible from wherever you are.
Organization
- 1Business name and logo
The name appears in the app header, on generated PDFs and on your QR posters. Your logo is embedded in inspection PDFs, investigation reports and posters; without one, a TruStar Connect wordmark is used.
- 2Business profile, country and provinces
Describe what your business does and where you operate. The document assistant uses this to draft relevant, jurisdiction-specific policies and procedures.
- 3Default time zone
Submission and report timestamps display in this zone unless a project overrides it. A form submitted at 7 a.m. on site should read 7 a.m. in your records.
- 4Two-step verification policy
Optional, required for Owners, Admins and Managers, or required for everyone. When it is required, a member in scope is asked to set it up the next time they open the app. There are no recovery codes; an Owner or Admin can reset a locked-out member from the Users page.
People & HR
- Seats used against your plan, and every pending invitation with when it was sent and when it expires. The Users page is one tap away for resending or revoking.
- The HR system connection. Connect BambooHR, Dayforce, UKG Pro, UKG Ready, Humi, Avanti, Employment Hero, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle Fusion Cloud HCM or Workday here, preview and run the first import, switch the nightly sync on or off, and read the history of every run. The Connecting your HR system guide walks through it.
Training
The courses you track, the positions in your organization and what each requires, and any project that needs more than a position does. Unchanged from the Training Program section it used to be; the Setting up your training program guide covers it in depth.
Structure
Clients, the sites where work happens, and the projects on those sites. See Clients, sites, and projects.
Workflows
- Approvals: who gives the final sign-off on each kind of completed item. Leave one blank and it finalizes on the first signature — which is what the Overview flags.
- Permit authorization: who signs a work permit and in what order, as an organization default or per project.
- Effectiveness reviews: how many times a verified corrective action is checked again, and how far out each check sits.
Fleet
The Fleet switch for the whole organization, your carrier profile and jurisdictions, and the state of your telematics feed with a link to the full Telematics screen. Setting up Fleet has the whole path.
Reports & language
- The language your scheduled documents go out in. It applies to everything the organization emails on a schedule; reports you download yourself are always in your own language.
- Your reports — the same builder, list and archive as the Reports page under Analytics. Every report you have built is listed with what it covers, how often it sends and to whom, and you can build a new one from here. It is one list, wherever you open it; the Reports guide explains each report type.
Tru knows every area. Ask where to change the report language, connect your HR system or set an approver, and it takes you straight to the right area; the help button on each area opens the guide for what is on screen.
