The terms
- You earn 20% of what a company you referred pays for Connect, before tax, for its first 12 months of paid invoices. Nothing is earned during its free trial.
- Your link is remembered for 90 days on the device it was opened on. If the company follows another partner's link after yours, the latest link counts.
- Only a new company counts: one that creates its own Connect organization through your link. Existing customers, your own company and people joining an existing organization do not.
- Each commission is held for 30 days after the invoice is paid (60 days for a yearly plan), so a refund or dispute can cancel it. A refund reduces or cancels the commission on that invoice.
- Matured commissions are paid on the first of each month to the bank account you set up with Stripe, once they add up to at least $25. Smaller amounts carry over.
- You are responsible for your own income tax. If you are registered for GST/HST, add your number and we pay the tax on top. TruStar may issue a T4A slip for amounts it is required to report.
- You must tell anyone you refer that you earn a commission from TruStar, and you may not describe yourself as TruStar staff.
- No spam, no paid search ads on the TruStar name, and no misleading claims. TruStar may pause a partner who breaks these terms and may change the terms for future referrals with notice.

Who can join?+
Safety consultants, COR and SECOR advisors, trainers and anyone else who works with Canadian companies on their safety programs. Joining is free and you do not need a Connect subscription.
How much can I earn?+
20% of what each company you refer pays for Connect, before tax, for its first 12 months of paid invoices. A Growth plan company at $475 a month earns you $95 a month, $1,140 over the year.
How and when am I paid?+
You set up payouts with Stripe, which pays into your Canadian bank account. Each commission is held 30 days after the invoice is paid (60 for a yearly plan) in case of a refund, then paid on the first of the month once your balance is at least $25.
How do you know a company came from me?+
Your link remembers you for 90 days on the device it was opened on. When the company creates its Connect account from that device in that time, it is recorded as your referral and appears on your dashboard.
Do I have to tell my clients?+
Yes. You must tell anyone you refer that you earn a commission from TruStar. It is the law in Canada, and it is the right thing to do for a client who trusts your advice.
What about GST/HST?+
If you are registered for GST/HST, add your number and we pay the tax on top of your commission at your province’s rate. You are responsible for your own income tax.
