Release Notes

What is new in TruStar Connect, newest first.

v2.99.2LatestJune 12, 2026

Scroll showcase and a deeper story

Added
  • A scroll-driven product showcase on the landing page. As you scroll, a phone running the app scales and tilts while its screen moves through the dashboard, an AI investigation, AI document drafting, and the training matrix, with the headline changing alongside.
  • A deeper TruStar Method section with the five Stars and what makes the framework different, drawn from the Knowledge Base, plus a link to the full article.
  • A side by side comparison that shows why TruStar Connect goes well beyond a typical forms app, without calling anyone out by name.
Improved
  • The AI section now makes the role of AI clear: it assists the person doing the work and completes tasks in a fraction of the time, while you verify, edit, and approve everything before it is final.
v2.99.1June 12, 2026

Landing page polish and footer fix

Fixed
  • The Knowledge Base and Release Notes pages no longer leave a large blank space below the footer. The footer now sits at the bottom of the page on short content.
Improved
  • More motion and graphics across the landing page: every section now reveals on scroll, the Method pillars animate in sequence, and brand star motifs and glow accents run through the AI and trial sections.
  • The industry tags in the trust strip are now separated with brand accents.
v2.99June 12, 2026

Public resources, SEO, and a richer landing page

Added
  • Release Notes and the Knowledge Base are now public pages. Anyone can read them without logging in, and search engines can index them.
  • A sitemap and robots file so the public pages get discovered and indexed.
  • The landing page now has motion and graphics: an animated hero, scroll reveals, hover lift on cards, a brand star motif, and a glow accent.
Fixed
  • The Redeem a trial code link now opens the redemption page even if you have signed in before, instead of bouncing to the login screen.
Changed
  • The footer contact email is now info@trustarsafety.com.
v2.98June 12, 2026

New landing page and instant free trial

Added
  • A redesigned public landing page that promotes the full platform: investigation and AI root cause, inspections and forms, documents and AI policies, hazards, training, corrective actions, and the COR and SECOR roadmap.
  • Start a 14-day free trial straight from the landing page. Enter your name, work email, organization, and optional phone, and your workspace is created on submit with an email to set your password. No credit card needed.
v2.97June 12, 2026

Training matrix access and profile cleanup

Fixed
  • The Training Matrix now opens for everyone. Viewers and Workers were being bounced back to the Training page when they tapped Matrix.
Changed
  • The Sign out button has moved from the Organization page to My Profile.
  • Viewers no longer see certificate upload buttons on the Training page, since they have read-only access.
Removed
  • The Users shortcut on the Organization page has been removed. Use the Users link in the main menu.
v2.96June 11, 2026

Access tuning, cleaner reviews, and upvoting help

Changed
  • Viewers and Workers can now open the Users page to see the team roster, roles, and reporting lines. Editing users, pending invitations, and personal contact details stay limited to Owners and Admins.
  • The Training Matrix is now viewable by everyone, so any team member can see required training coverage.
  • Effectiveness Reviews now show only the next review due for each corrective action. The 60 day stays hidden until the 30 day is done, and the 90 day until the 60 day is done, for a cleaner list.
Added
  • A short "How upvoting works" info box on the Feature Requests board explains voting and the Top and This Month sorts.
Security
  • Viewers can no longer submit forms. Workers and above still can.
v2.95June 10, 2026

Policies folder, folder menu, and header fix

Added
  • New "Policies" starter folder in Documents with an AI assistant tuned for company safety policies. It suggests the standard COR policy set and drafts full policies, including a Drug and Alcohol policy aligned with the Canadian Model for Providing a Safe Workplace, plus Violence and Harassment, Working Alone, Incident Investigation, Disciplinary, Return to Work, and more, written to your jurisdiction and ready to edit and sign.
Changed
  • The "Add COR starter folders" action moved into a dropdown on the New folder button in Documents, so the toolbar is cleaner. Click the chevron beside New folder to find it.
Fixed
  • The contextual Help button no longer overlaps page buttons on iPad and other narrower large screens. It now sits in the bottom-right corner clear of the page header.
v2.94June 10, 2026

Cleaner mobile layouts

Improved
  • Hazard Register: the register header no longer crams its actions into tiny unlabeled icons on mobile. The Export, Import, Build with AI, and New buttons now show their labels and wrap onto their own row, and the register name is no longer cut off.
  • Form Submissions: each submission now gives its title and date the full width instead of competing with the badges, so the date no longer wraps awkwardly. The score, fail, and status badges sit on their own row beneath, and tap targets are a little larger.
v2.93June 10, 2026

Linked folders match forms by inferred category

Fixed
  • Linked Documents folders (Hazard Assessments, Inspections, Meetings, Toolbox, Emergency Response) now surface a form submission even when the form's COR category was left blank, by inferring the category from the form type and name. An FLHA, for example, now appears in the Hazard Assessments folder without having to set its category by hand.
v2.92June 10, 2026

Fix Emergency Response folder creation

Fixed
  • Adding or recreating the Emergency Response folder failed because the emergency link kind was not yet allowed in the database. It is now permitted, so the starter folders action recreates and links the folder. Folder creation also no longer fails the whole batch if a single folder is rejected.
v2.91June 10, 2026

Drill records route to Emergency Response folder

Changed
  • Emergency Drill Record submissions now surface in the Emergency Response folder in Documents. The folder is linked automatically the next time the starter folders are added from Documents.
v2.90June 10, 2026

Emergency Drill Record form

Added
  • New "Emergency Drill Record" recommended form. Pick the drill type and facilitator, check off the crew members who participated, and run a pass or fail evaluation of standard drill items (alarm, evacuation routes, accounting for personnel, roll call, muster point, equipment, roles, communication, timing, and all-clear). A comments box captures the mock scenario and lessons learned, with an optional photo and a required facilitator signature.
v2.89June 10, 2026

Eyewash Station Inspection form

Added
  • New "Monthly Eyewash Station Inspection" recommended form. Pick the station type, run a pass or fail check grounded in ANSI Z358.1 points (accessibility, activation, clear flushing fluid, flow, nozzle covers, self-contained fluid expiry, condition, and inspection tag), take a photo of the unit, note any issues, and sign off as the inspector.
v2.88June 10, 2026

First Aid Kit Inspection form

Added
  • New "Monthly First Aid Kit Inspection" recommended form. Pick the kit type from a CSA Z1220 dropdown (Type 1 Personal, Type 2 Basic, Type 3 Intermediate, with small, medium, and large sizes) to match the project jurisdiction and hazard level, then run a pass or fail check of the kit contents and condition. An optional AED section lets you inspect a defibrillator on the same checklist, marked N/A when there is none. Includes an issues note, an optional photo, and a required inspector signature.
v2.87June 10, 2026

Fire extinguisher inspection and uncropped photos

Added
  • New "Monthly Fire Extinguisher Inspection" recommended form. Add each extinguisher with its location and a pass or fail result, note the reason on a failure, and attach a photo of the extinguisher in place. Use Add Another to keep adding extinguishers, and sign off as the inspector at the end.
Fixed
  • Photos now display in their original aspect ratio everywhere they appear, while filling a form, on the submission view, and in the PDF. They are still sized down to fit, but are no longer cropped, so the full image is always visible.
v2.86June 10, 2026

Fall Protection / Harness Inspection form

Added
  • New "Fall Protection / Harness Inspection" recommended form. Record serial numbers for the harness, retractable, lanyard, and other gear, then run a pass or fail check of the harness (webbing, stitching, D-rings, buckles, impact indicator, labels) and the retractable or lanyard (housing, retraction and braking, lifeline, shock pack, hooks). Failed items raise corrective actions, and there is a result selector to mark gear in service or removed from service.
  • Includes a comments box, an optional photos field, and an inspector signature, with the usual auto date, time, and location stamp and weather on site.
v2.85June 10, 2026

Trim orientation form

Changed
  • Removed the Company / Employer field from the New Worker Orientation form, since the company already comes through with the selected project.
v2.84June 10, 2026

Orientation links to worker training records

Changed
  • The New Worker Orientation form now lets you pick the worker from the project crew instead of typing a name. Their job title (from their assigned position) fills in automatically.
Added
  • When a signed orientation is submitted, a completed "Project-Specific Orientation" record is added to that worker's training profile, noting which project it was for. The record is not duplicated if the same worker and project is submitted again.
  • Single-select worker pickers now show the chosen person's job title.
v2.83June 10, 2026

Fix orientation form generation

Fixed
  • Generating the recommended forms failed when only the New Worker and Site Orientation Checklist was missing, because the orientation category was not yet allowed in the database. The category is now permitted, and generation no longer fails the whole batch if a single form is rejected.
v2.82June 10, 2026

New Worker and Site Orientation Checklist

Added
  • New "New Worker and Site Orientation Checklist" recommended form. It confirms a worker received company orientation (policy, worker rights, reporting, WHMIS, fitness for duty) and site-specific orientation (site hazards, ERP, muster points, evacuation, first aid, permits, SDS, spill response), records the tickets verified, and is signed by both the worker and the person who delivered the orientation.
  • Follows the same format as the other defaults: auto date, time, and location stamp with weather on site, and an optional photos field for tickets or certifications.
v2.81June 10, 2026

General Worksite Inspection form

Added
  • New "General Worksite Inspection" recommended form. It is a pass or fail walk-through covering housekeeping and access, PPE, fire and emergency, electrical and equipment, WHMIS and environment, working at heights, mobile equipment, and documentation, grounded in CCOHS inspection guidance. Failed items raise corrective actions automatically.
  • It auto date, time, and location stamps with weather on site, allows optional photos, and is signed by the inspector and, where there is one, the supervisor. A worker with no supervisor can submit with their own signature alone.
v2.80June 10, 2026

Recommended Forms folder and refreshed default forms

Changed
  • Recommended forms are now created inside a "Recommended Forms" folder. The folder is created if it is missing, and any newly generated forms are placed in it.
  • Refreshed the Safety Meeting and Toolbox Talk defaults: removed the date, location, and duplicate project fields. Each submission is now auto date, time, and location stamped with weather on site, like the FLHA. Pick the facilitator or presenter and the attendees from the project crew, with an optional box for visitors or client attendees. The Toolbox Talk also gained an optional permit number.
Added
  • The FLHA now has optional fields for permit number, muster point, and emergency number or radio channel, an additional comments box, and an optional work area photo (take or upload).
v2.79June 10, 2026

Vehicle inspection form, cleaner PDF, tidier forms page

Added
  • New "Light-Duty Vehicle Inspection" recommended form. It captures vehicle type, unit number, fuel type, odometer, and next service distance, a full pass or fail checklist of inspection items, photos of the front, rear, and both sides (camera or upload), defect notes, and a driver signature. Like the FLHA, it is automatically date, time, and location stamped with weather on site.
  • Added "FR Coveralls" to the PPE list on the recommended FLHA.
Fixed
  • The submission PDF was cramped and overlapping on longer assessments. Sections and long hazard lists now flow and break across pages cleanly, each hazard and signature stays together, and the summary box no longer overlaps the content below it.
Changed
  • Moved "Recommended Forms" into the New Form menu as an AI option, to keep the forms page header clean.
v2.78June 10, 2026

Reliable hazard generation and friendlier dialogs

Fixed
  • The Task Hazard Selector could get stuck on "loading" if the generation took too long or the connection dropped. It now always finishes with either results or a clear message, and the time allowed for generation has been extended.
Improved
  • A styled notice now appears while hazards generate, letting the crew know it can take up to a minute for a complex scope of work.
  • Deleting a form or a folder now uses a clean in-app confirmation instead of the browser's default pop-up.
v2.77June 10, 2026

Per-worker sign-off on the FLHA

Added
  • New "Worker Sign-off" field. It shows a signature box for each worker selected in a Workers field on the form, so everyone on the task signs before the assessment is submitted. Extra signers who are not in the system can be added on site.
  • The recommended FLHA now uses per-worker sign-off in place of the single signature line.
Fixed
  • The recommended FLHA asked for the project twice. The duplicate Project field is removed, since the project is already chosen at the top of every form.
v2.76June 10, 2026

Leaner FLHA, weather on site, and recommended forms

Changed
  • Streamlined the recommended FLHA. The separate Task Description and Controls fields are gone because the Task Hazard Selector already captures the task and recommends controls. The Date and Location fields are gone too: each submission is automatically date and time stamped, and the project is already chosen at the top.
Added
  • Weather on site. When a form is submitted with location captured, the current conditions and the day's forecast (temperature, wind, and chance of precipitation) are recorded on the submission and shown on screen and in the PDF.
  • PPE and other multi-select questions can now include an "Other" option that reveals a text box, so crews can add an item that is not on the list. Turn it on per field in the form builder.
  • A "Recommended Forms" button on the Inspections and Forms page creates the recommended COR forms (Safety Meeting, Toolbox Talk, FLHA). It recreates any that were deleted, with the current recommended fields, and leaves your existing forms untouched.
v2.75June 10, 2026

Fix form editor crash on older templates

Fixed
  • Editing a form that still used the previous "Hazards From Register" field could crash with a client-side error. That field now migrates automatically to the new Task Hazard Selector wherever a form is opened, filled, or viewed, so no manual swap is needed.
  • Hardened the form builder so an unrecognized field type can no longer crash the editor.
v2.74June 10, 2026

Task-aware hazard selector for field assessments

Changed
  • Replaced the "Hazards From Register" field with a "Task Hazard Selector". The old field pulled every hazard for the project, which was too long for a Field-Level Hazard Assessment. The new field is task focused.
Added
  • On an FLHA, a worker describes the task and generates a concise list of likely hazards, each with suggested controls, in a single tap. The list is meant to be short and specific to the job at hand, not a full register.
  • Every suggested hazard and control is editable. Workers keep the ones that apply, edit the wording, check off which controls are in place, and add their own hazards.
  • Any hazard can be flagged to suggest for the Hazard Register. Managers reviewing the submission can promote those into the register in one tap, exactly as before.
v2.73June 10, 2026

Field assessments connect to the Hazard Register

Added
  • New "Hazards From Register" field for forms. On a Field-Level Hazard Assessment, workers can pull the active hazards for their project (plus org-wide hazards) straight from the Hazard Register, tick the ones that apply, and confirm each control is in place.
  • Workers can add a hazard that is not in the register and flag it to be added later, so nothing identified on site gets lost.
  • When reviewing a submission, managers see a "Hazards Flagged For The Register" panel and can add each flagged hazard, with its controls, to the Hazard Register in one tap.
Improved
  • Submission views and PDFs now show selected hazards with each control marked in place or not, plus any hazards added on site.
  • The default FLHA template now uses the register-connected hazards field in place of the free-text Hazards and Controls boxes.
v2.72June 10, 2026

No hazards lost on import

Fixed
  • A very dense batch of rows could still exceed the assistant output limit and be dropped, so a few hazards went missing from an otherwise successful import. A batch that hits the limit is now split in half and retried, down to single rows, so every readable hazard comes through.
v2.71June 10, 2026

Import handles dense assessments

Fixed
  • Importing a detailed assessment could still fail when rows held long hazard and control lists, because each batch generated more than the assistant could return at once. Batches are now smaller, the per-batch limit is higher, and each source row maps to one hazard by default, so dense documents import successfully.
Added
  • Import now shows a notice while the document is analyzed, letting you know it can take a few minutes for a large assessment and to keep the tab open.
v2.70June 10, 2026

Reliable import for large assessments

Fixed
  • Importing a large hazard assessment from Excel could fail because the whole document was read in one pass and exceeded the assistant output limit. The spreadsheet is now read in smaller batches and the results merged, so large registers import reliably.
Improved
  • Import now skips instruction, title, risk-matrix, and sign-off sheets so it focuses on the actual hazard rows, and a single unreadable batch no longer fails the whole import.
v2.69June 10, 2026

Import hazards from an existing assessment

Added
  • Each register section now has an Import button. Upload an existing hazard assessment as an Excel file or PDF and the assistant scans it for activities, hazards, controls, and risk rankings, then maps them into the app format.
  • Where the source document has no initial or residual rating, the assistant assigns a sensible one using its judgment, which you can edit.
  • Imported hazards are shown in the usual confirmation window for review. Any hazard already in that register is marked and skipped, so duplicates are not created.
v2.68June 10, 2026

Export the Hazard Register to Excel

Added
  • Each register section now has an Export button that downloads a branded, landscape Excel workbook in the traditional hazard assessment format: activity, hazard, description, initial and residual risk (colored by band), controls by hierarchy, owner, review date, and linked documents.
v2.67June 10, 2026

Fix Build with AI on larger registers

Fixed
  • Build with AI could fail to return any hazards on an org-wide register because the longer hazard list ran past the assistant output limit. The limit has been raised so full registers generate reliably.
v2.66June 10, 2026

Hazard Register polish

Added
  • You can now delete a hazard directly from the register list, with a confirmation prompt before anything is removed.
Fixed
  • Control cards no longer squish the description into a narrow column on phones. The control type sits on its own line above the full-width text.
  • The bottom navigation bar now stays locked to the bottom of the screen on mobile instead of drifting up while scrolling.
v2.65June 10, 2026

Hazard Register, reorganized

Added
  • The Hazard Register is now organized into collapsible sections: an org-wide register and one for each project, each with its own Build with AI and New hazard buttons.
  • Building a project register asks for that project scope of work and drafts hazards from the scope combined with your business profile.
  • AI now fills in a description and a residual risk rating for each hazard, sets you as the owner, and sets a review date one year out. You can edit all of it.
  • A review reminder now appears on your Tasks page when a hazard you own is within 30 days of its review date.
  • You can now edit a control inline, and link more than one document to a control.
Improved
  • A collapsible info box explains that AI suggestions are guidance to be verified and edited by a person.
  • The document linking controls on a hazard now stack cleanly on mobile and no longer cause sideways scrolling.
v2.64June 10, 2026

Fix release notes page

Fixed
  • The release notes page could fail to load because of an unrecognized change label. Labels now include an Improved category and the page renders correctly.
v2.63June 9, 2026

AI for the Hazard Register

Added
  • Build with AI on the Hazard Register. It suggests a full list of hazards for your business, each with an initial risk rating and a set of controls, which you review and add to an org-wide or project register.
  • Suggest controls drafts controls for any single hazard by the hierarchy of controls, ready to review and add.
  • Controls now link to documents. Auto-link connects a hazard’s controls to your existing safe work practices and procedures, and each control has a picker to link any document by hand.
  • When a control has no document, Create with AI drafts a safe work practice in your Documents, links it to the control, and opens it for review.
v2.62June 9, 2026

Hazard Register

Added
  • A new Hazard Register under Safety. Build an org-wide register for company-wide hazards and project-specific registers for individual jobs, switching between them with one selector.
  • Assess each hazard on the same 5x5 risk matrix used in investigations, with both an initial risk and a residual risk after controls, color coded from Low to Extreme.
  • Record the controls for each hazard ordered by the hierarchy of controls: elimination, substitution, engineering, administrative, then PPE. Owners, admins, and managers can manage the register.
v2.61June 9, 2026

Knowledge Base refresh and clearer Create menu

Changed
  • The mobile Create menu now says New Form Submission instead of New Inspection, since not every form is an inspection.
Improved
  • Updated the in-app Knowledge Base. The Documents guide now covers folders and COR starter folders, linked folders that show live records, authoring in the app, drafting with AI, status and revisions, the branded PDF, and digital sign-off.
  • Refreshed the Organization guide to cover the new business profile and jurisdictions, and the Forms guide to cover setting a template COR category.
v2.60June 9, 2026

Cleaner document list on every screen

Improved
  • The document list now lays out properly on phones and desktop. On a phone the action buttons sit on their own row beneath the title instead of crowding it, so long titles are easy to read.
Added
  • Documents in the list now show their status, including an Approved pill, along with the revision number and the date that revision was made.
v2.59June 9, 2026

Lock sign-off on empty documents

Fixed
  • A brand new, empty document showed an active approval form. Sign-off is now locked, greyed out, and labelled with a clear message whenever the document has no saved content to approve, in addition to the unsaved-changes case.
v2.58June 9, 2026

Save before you sign

Fixed
  • A document could be signed and approved before its latest edits were saved, which approved the stored version and discarded unsaved content, including text drafted with AI. The Sign and approve and Assign controls are now locked until the document is saved, then unlock automatically.
Added
  • A short, collapsible explanation in the sign-off panel describing why a document has to be saved before it can be approved.
v2.57June 9, 2026

Document sign-off with digital signatures

Added
  • Approval sign-off for documents. A document must now be signed off by its creator, or by a selected manager, admin, or owner, before it can be approved. Sign with a real digital signature drawn right in the app, and it appears on the document and on the PDF.
  • Assign a document to a manager, admin, or owner for approval. It shows up in their Tasks under "Documents to sign" so they know it is waiting on them.
Changed
  • Approved status is now reached by signing the document, not by setting it directly. Editing an approved document still creates a new revision and requires a fresh signature.
Fixed
  • A folder document count now decreases correctly after you delete a document.
v2.56June 9, 2026

Draft your safety documents with AI

Added
  • Business profile in Organization settings: describe what your business does and the industries you work in, and set your country and (for Canada) the provinces and territories you operate in. The document assistant uses this to draft relevant, jurisdiction-specific content.
  • Write with AI in the document editor. In the Health and Safety Policy folder it drafts your single overarching policy, complete with a senior manager signature block and a note that it must be re-signed annually to stay COR compliant. In Safe Work Practice, Safe Job Procedure, and Code of Practice folders it asks what you want to write and suggests topics based on your business.
  • AI drafts are tailored to the OHS legislation of the jurisdictions you set, and are fully editable so you can use them as a starting point.
v2.55June 9, 2026

Write controlled documents in the app

Added
  • You can now author documents directly in a Documents folder. New document opens an editor with a title, status, and a simple writing area that supports headings and bullets, so you can write your policies, safe work practices, and procedures in the app.
  • Every document has a status (draft, in review, approved, archived) and is revision tracked. Editing an approved document automatically saves the previous version to its history, bumps the revision, and returns it to draft for re-approval.
  • Download any authored document as a branded PDF, with your organization logo, document number, revision, and status.
v2.54June 9, 2026

Delete submissions

Added
  • Managers can now delete a submission from the Submissions page, with a confirmation step. Deleted submissions are also removed from any linked Documents folder.
v2.53June 9, 2026

Clearer wording for forms

Changed
  • Renamed the New Inspection button on the Inspections and Forms page to New Submission, and the Start an inspection heading to Submit a Form, since not every form is an inspection.
v2.52June 9, 2026

COR category selector in the form builder

Added
  • The form builder now has a COR category selector, so you can set whether a form is an inspection, hazard assessment, safety meeting, toolbox talk, or other category. Submissions then file automatically into the matching Documents folder.
  • Scanned forms and AI generated forms now arrive with a suggested COR category already filled in, based on the form type, so you just confirm it.
v2.51June 9, 2026

More linked folders and default COR forms

Added
  • The Inspections, Meeting Minutes, and Hazard Assessments folders now show live form submissions: inspections, safety meetings and toolbox talks, and field-level hazard assessments, each linking to the full submission with a one click PDF.
  • Add COR starter folders now also creates three ready to use forms: Safety Meeting Minutes, Toolbox Talk, and Field-Level Hazard Assessment (FLHA). Every time one is submitted it appears automatically in the matching folder.
Changed
  • Your existing form templates are automatically sorted into the right folder by name and type, so inspections and hazard assessments you already use show up without any setup.
v2.50June 9, 2026

Expandable training rows and a fixed investigation link

Added
  • In the Training and Orientation folder, click a worker to expand their record and see every required course with its status: valid, expiring, expired, or missing, each with its expiry date, plus any additional certifications they hold.
Fixed
  • Opening an investigation from the Incident Reports folder now lands on the investigation correctly instead of showing a not found error.
v2.49June 9, 2026

Linked folders: live records in Documents

Added
  • Documents folders can now show live records from other parts of the app instead of stored files. The Incident Reports folder shows your investigations, and the Training and Orientation folder shows your training matrix, each always current with nothing to file by hand.
  • Linked folders are marked Live records in the folder list, and each record links straight to the full entry, with a one click PDF for investigations.
Changed
  • Add COR starter folders now also upgrades your existing Incident Reports and Training and Orientation folders to linked, so you can turn this on without recreating anything.
v2.48June 9, 2026

Controlled documents and COR starter folders

Added
  • One click to add a set of COR-aligned starter folders to Documents: Health and Safety Policy, Roles and Responsibilities, Safe Work Practices, Safe Job Procedures, Codes of Practice, Hazard Assessments, and more. You can still add your own folders alongside them.
  • Documents now carry an organization document number, a revision, and a status, shown right on each document, so your safety program is properly revision tracked.
v2.47June 9, 2026

Cleaner Needs Your Attention

Changed
  • The Needs Your Attention grid now hides any tile with nothing in it, so you only see what actually needs action. The grid resizes to fit so there are no empty or orphaned tiles.
  • When nothing needs your attention, the dashboard shows a friendly all caught up message instead of a row of zeros.
v2.46June 9, 2026

Smarter Knowledge Base and a setup checklist

Added
  • Ask the Knowledge Base: type a question in plain language and get a concise answer with links to the guides it came from.
  • A setup checklist on the dashboard for owners and admins that mirrors the Start Here path and checks steps off as your organization completes them.
  • A Was this helpful control at the bottom of every article. Telling us a guide was not helpful sends your note to Support and Requests so we can improve it.
  • Learn more links from empty screens, including the training matrix, forms, and observations, that open the matching guide.
v2.45June 9, 2026

Knowledge Base: methods, mobile nav, and contextual help

Added
  • A contextual help icon in every page header. It links straight to the knowledge base article for the page you are on.
  • In depth knowledge base coverage of all six investigation methods: TruStar Method, SCAT, ICAM, HFACS, 5 Whys, and Bowtie, plus a dedicated article explaining the TruStar Method and its five Stars.
Changed
  • The knowledge base section navigation on mobile is now a clean sliding dropdown instead of a horizontal scroll.
  • The What is the TruStar Method link in the new investigation screen now opens the knowledge base article.
v2.44June 9, 2026

Knowledge Base

Added
  • A full Knowledge Base under Support, with step by step guides for every part of TruStar Connect, from first time setup to running investigations.
  • Search across all articles, browse by topic, and follow the Start Here path that walks an owner through setup in the recommended order.
  • Each article shows who it is for and how long it takes to read, links straight to the relevant page in the app, and includes visual mockups of key screens.
v2.43June 8, 2026

Fix: form QR codes generate correctly

Fixed
  • Form QR codes and posters now contain the correct link. They were previously pointing to an invalid address, which caused the "This link is not active" message when scanned.
v2.42June 8, 2026

Fix: form QR codes open for everyone

Fixed
  • Scanning a form QR code now opens the form for everyone, including people who are not signed in, instead of redirecting to the login screen. Guests once again see the option to log in or continue by entering their name.
v2.41June 8, 2026

QR codes for inspections

Added
  • Each form now has its own QR code and printable poster, like the safety observation posters. Open a form’s QR page from the QR button on the Inspections & Forms list to view the code, copy the link, or download the poster.
  • Workers can scan the poster to complete the inspection on their phone. If they are signed in, it submits on their account.
  • If they are not signed in, they can either log in or continue as a guest by entering their name, with an optional company field, so subcontractors who are not in your system can still complete your inspections. Guest submissions are recorded with that name and company.
v2.40June 8, 2026

Export the training matrix to Excel

Added
  • An Export Excel button on the training matrix produces a styled, landscape spreadsheet of every worker’s training, one column per course, with the same colour coding as the app: valid, expiring within 30 days, expired, and required-but-missing.
  • The spreadsheet has filter controls on every column, including a Project column, so you can narrow to a single project right inside Excel. Workers on more than one project appear once per project. Expired, expiring, and missing counts per worker are included for quick sorting.
v2.39June 8, 2026

Time zones, submission filters, consistent branding

Added
  • A default time zone in Organization settings, used to stamp submitted forms and reports.
  • A per-project time zone override in project settings, for companies working across time zone boundaries. Projects inherit the organization default unless you set one.
  • Search and filters on the Submissions page: find forms by text, form type, project, submitter, and date range.
Changed
  • Submitted form timestamps now display in the project’s time zone and show the zone (for example MDT), on the Submissions list, the detail view, and the PDF.
  • The safety review report PDF now uses your organization logo with the same clean TruStar Connect wordmark fallback as the other exports.
v2.38June 8, 2026

Consistent report branding

Fixed
  • The investigation report PDF now uses your organization logo from Settings, falling back to the same clean black TruStar Connect wordmark as the form exports, instead of placing the logo on a dark block.
v2.37June 8, 2026

Cleaner PDF header

Fixed
  • The PDF export now uses your organization logo set in Settings, and falls back to a clean black TruStar Connect wordmark when none is set, instead of showing the logo on a dark block.
  • Gave the form title and type more room at the top of the PDF so they no longer overlap.
v2.36June 8, 2026

Download a form as PDF

Added
  • A Download PDF button on every completed submission produces a clean, branded copy you can save or print, including answers, photos, signature, location, and compliance score.
Fixed
  • Form names on the Inspections & Forms list now use the full width on phones instead of being squeezed beside the action buttons.
  • On a submission, the status badge no longer crowds a long title on mobile; it now sits above the title.
v2.35June 8, 2026

Mobile header fixes

Fixed
  • On phones, New Inspection is now a full-width button with Submissions and New form sharing a tidy 50/50 row beneath it.
  • The New form menu no longer opens off the side of the screen on mobile; it now stays fully within view.
v2.34June 8, 2026

Tidier header

Changed
  • Streamlined the Inspections & Forms header to three controls: New Inspection, Submissions, and a New form menu that now also holds New folder, so the buttons sit on one clean row instead of wrapping awkwardly.
v2.33June 8, 2026

Start an inspection

Added
  • New Inspection now opens a picker so you can choose which saved form to fill in, then reveals it for completion. Submitting files it under the project and form type as before.
  • A New Inspection button on the Inspections & Forms page, available to everyone, not just managers.
Fixed
  • The Inspections & Forms header no longer crowds the title and buttons together on narrow phone screens; the buttons now wrap cleanly.
v2.32June 8, 2026

Inspections & Forms

Changed
  • The Forms section is now called Inspections & Forms, since forms already cover Pass / Fail inspections with scoring, photos, and sign-off.
  • The mobile Create menu now offers New Inspection in place of the old placeholder and New Form.
Removed
  • The separate, unbuilt Inspections placeholder, now folded into Inspections & Forms.
v2.31June 8, 2026

Fill in and submit forms

Crews can now complete forms on site.

Added
  • Anyone on the team can open a form and fill it in from the Forms list. Selecting a project is required, and it is pre-filled when the form is tagged to one.
  • Capture photos and signatures, and the submission records GPS location, date, and time automatically, like safety observations.
  • Required fields are checked before submitting, and Pass / Fail items produce a compliance score and a failed-item count.
  • A Submissions area files every completed form under its project and form type, with a full read-only view of the answers, photos, signature, location, and score.
v2.30June 8, 2026

Builder layout fix

Fixed
  • The "Tag to a project" dropdown in the form builder now sits below its label and spans the full width, so it no longer looks cramped on desktop or mobile.
v2.29June 8, 2026

Project-aware forms

Added
  • Tag a form to a specific project, so it is pre-selected and its worker pickers are scoped to that crew. Leave it untagged for general-purpose forms.
  • A Project / Site field that pulls your real clients, sites, or projects from organization settings.
  • A Workers field that lets people pick crew members, with an option to show only those assigned to the selected project.
v2.28June 8, 2026

Form builder preview and polish

Added
  • A live Preview button in the form builder shows exactly how a form will look and behave, including conditional fields, repeatable sections, and collapsible sections.
  • A "How sections work" explainer in the builder describing what repeatable and collapsible sections do.
Changed
  • Clearer labels and descriptions on the repeatable and collapsible section options.
Fixed
  • The Forms page header no longer crowds the buttons against the title on mobile.
  • The generate and scan form screens now match the width and layout of the rest of the app on desktop.
v2.27June 8, 2026

Generate a form with AI

Describe what you need and get a ready-to-edit form.

Added
  • Generate a form from a plain-language description: Claude designs it with recommended fields based on Canadian OHS best practice.
  • Start from an example like a Daily Site Inspection, FLHA, Equipment Pre-Use, or Toolbox Talk, then review and edit the draft in the builder before saving.
v2.26June 8, 2026

Scan a form

Turn a paper form into a digital one with a photo.

Added
  • Scan a paper form by photo or by uploading an image or PDF, and Claude rebuilds it as a digital form, choosing the right field types and keeping your sections.
  • Review and approve the scanned form in the builder before saving, with a suggested folder you can keep or change.
v2.25June 8, 2026

Forms

Build your inspections and checklists as digital forms.

Added
  • A new Forms section to build inspection and checklist forms, organized into folders by type.
  • A form builder with sections and all the common field types: text, numbers, dates, dropdowns, multi-select, Pass / Fail / N/A inspection items, ratings, photos, signatures, and GPS.
  • Per-field options like required, help text, and show-this-field-only-when conditional logic, plus form-level settings for supervisor approval and signature sign-off.
v2.23June 8, 2026

Dashboard refresh

A clearer, more compact home dashboard.

Changed
  • The "Needs your attention" tiles now show an icon, the number, and a short description of exactly what each figure refers to.
  • The organization overview is merged into a single attention grid, and the layout never leaves a lone tile stranded on its own row.
Added
  • Support tickets and the most-requested features now appear on the dashboard, including a "new this week" marker on trending ideas.
v2.20June 7, 2026

Feature board, refined

Added
  • Sort the feature request board by "This Month" to see what is gaining momentum right now.
  • A badge on the Support menu flags new tickets and requests since you last looked.
v2.19June 7, 2026

Tickets and requests, separated

Added
  • A shared feature request board where everyone can post ideas and upvote the ones they want most.
Changed
  • Support tickets are now private to you and our team, while feature requests are visible to all users.
v2.18June 6, 2026

Help and feedback

Report problems and request features without leaving the app.

Added
  • Report a bug, request a feature, or ask a question directly inside the app.
  • Attach a screenshot or take a photo when reporting a problem, and paste in the exact error you saw.
  • Follow your request with threaded replies and email updates as its status changes.
v2.15June 5, 2026

Smarter document library

Added
  • Search your entire document library across every folder, with a category filter.
  • Require read acknowledgements on a document and see exactly who has and has not read it.
  • Version history: upload a newer version of a document while keeping the previous ones on file.
v2.14June 4, 2026

Document management

Added
  • Bulk upload documents; uploads keep running in the background with a progress indicator while you carry on working.
  • Move documents between folders, and replace a document with a newer version.
Changed
  • Deleting a document now asks for confirmation and is limited to owners, admins, and managers.
v2.11June 3, 2026

Document library

A home for your policies, procedures, and forms.

Added
  • A new Documents area with folders, per-role visibility and upload permissions, and AI-assisted naming and categorization of what you upload.
