Hosted courses live under Settings → Training → Hosted courses. Each one completes a training record you already track, so finishing it counts on the matrix, crew readiness and the gap chaser exactly like an uploaded ticket.

Exporting from Articulate Rise 360 or Storyline

  1. 1
    Publish for an LMS

In Rise 360 or Storyline, choose Publish, then LMS. Pick SCORM 2004 (4th edition) unless you have a reason not to. xAPI, cmi5 and SCORM 1.2 all work too.

  2. 2
    Set how it reports

Choose how the course decides it is complete: by lessons viewed, or by passing a quiz. Connect reads whatever the course reports.

  3. 3
    Download the zip

Keep it zipped. You upload the zip itself.

Tip. Courses from Adobe Captivate, iSpring, Elucidat, Lectora and other authoring tools work the same way when exported as SCORM, xAPI or cmi5. A plain web export works too; people then confirm they completed it.

Adding a course

  1. 1
    Add a course

Name it and choose what you are adding: a course package, a video, a PDF or a link.

  2. 2
    Upload the content

Connect checks the zip before uploading and tells you if it is the wrong export. Large courses upload file by file, with a progress bar.

  3. 3
    Link the training record

Choose which training record finishing this course gives a person, or create one with the same name.

  4. 4
    Set the details

An optional passing score, how many months the certificate is valid, and whether everyone can take it or only the people it is meant for. A certificate statement, if you add one, is printed on every certificate the course issues.

  5. 5
    Preview and publish

Preview opens it exactly as a worker would see it. Publish makes it available.

Requiring and assigning it

Required training says who must hold it, by position and by project. These are the same requirements as the rest of your training program, so anyone missing it shows as a gap on the matrix and gets reminded by the daily gap chaser.

Assign to people asks named people to take it, with an optional due date. Each person gets an email and finds it at the top of Available Training.

Progress lists everyone the course concerns: who has finished, who is part way, who has not started, and who is past their due date.

TruStar Safety Academy codes

Owners, administrators and managers can buy Academy courses for the team at 25% off. You receive one code per person, by email and under Available Training. Hand each person a code; they enter it and take the course without paying. You can note who you gave each code to, and cancel any code that has not been used.
