TruStar Safety

Release Notes

What is new in TruStar Connect, newest first.

v2.220.1June 27, 2026

Fix: release notes and What is new could fail to load

Corrected an issue that could make some pages show an unexpected error.

Fixed
  • Fixed an error that could make the Release Notes page, and the What is new panel, fail to load on some devices. No data was affected.
v2.220.0June 27, 2026

Toolbox Talks: deliver and sign offline

Run a talk with no signal. Attendance and signatures save on the device and upload when you reconnect.

Added
  • You can now deliver a toolbox talk while offline. Pick attendance and capture signatures in the field with no connection, and the talk is saved on the device.
  • Saved talks upload automatically when you are back online, with no duplicates if a delivery is retried. The connection bar shows how many are waiting to upload.
  • Works for both a fresh talk and an assigned talk you were sent to deliver.
Changed
  • Photos still need a connection. Deliver offline, then add photos later by editing the talk once you are back online. Editing a delivered talk also needs a connection.
v2.219.0June 27, 2026

Toolbox Talks: project crew fix and edit timestamps

Picking a project now loads its crew, and people added after submission are time-stamped.

Fixed
  • Selecting a project on the deliver screen now correctly loads the crew assigned to that project. Previously it could show no one even when people were assigned.
Added
  • When you edit a delivered talk and add someone late, that person is time-stamped as added after the original submission. The record and the PDF show when they were added and when they signed, while everyone from the original delivery keeps their original times.
v2.218.0June 27, 2026

Toolbox Talks: edit a delivered talk, with a 24-hour window

Reopen a submitted talk to add late signers, then it locks automatically for a trustworthy record.

Added
  • Open a delivered talk from the History tab and tap Edit to add an attendee who signed late, capture more signatures, or correct a detail. The original delivery time, GPS, and weather are kept.
  • A talk locks automatically 24 hours after it is submitted. Locked talks show a clear note and can no longer be changed, keeping your COR history trustworthy.
  • A "Toolbox talks to deliver" card now appears on your Dashboard when you have talks assigned to you.
v2.217.0June 27, 2026

Toolbox Talks: GPS, weather, and project-based attendance

Talks now record the location and weather on site, and attendance loads straight from the project crew.

Added
  • Delivering a talk now captures the GPS location and the weather on site, the same as a Field-Level Hazard Assessment. Both are saved to the record and printed on the PDF.
  • The weather on site is shown at the top of the talking points so the crew can factor conditions into the discussion.
Changed
  • Attendance now loads the crew assigned to the project you pick, instead of the whole company. The list stays hidden until you choose a project, and you can always add subcontractors or visitors by hand.
v2.216.0June 27, 2026

Toolbox Talks: on-site signatures

Capture each worker’s signature when you deliver a talk, stamped onto the COR record and PDF.

Added
  • Capture digital signatures when delivering a toolbox talk. Pass the device around and each worker signs to confirm attendance. Signatures appear on the talk record and the branded PDF.
  • Visitors and subcontractors can sign too, not just your own crew.
Changed
  • Choosing a project on the deliver screen now preselects that project’s crew as the attendance list, so you start from the right people and just adjust.
v2.215.0June 27, 2026

My Tasks: assigned talks and a Completed tab

Toolbox talks assigned to you now appear in My Tasks, and finished items move to their own Completed tab.

Added
  • Toolbox talks assigned to you now show in My Tasks under "Toolbox talks to deliver", with the delivery date and an overdue flag, so your to-do list is complete in one place.
  • My Tasks now has a "To do" and a "Completed" tab. The default To do tab shows only what needs action; finished work moves to Completed.
Changed
  • Corrective actions you have submitted or that have been verified now live in the Completed tab instead of cluttering your active list, making the default view clearer.
v2.214.0June 27, 2026

Toolbox Talks: assign to a facilitator

Assign talks for someone else to deliver, and find delivered talks in your Documents.

Added
  • Assign a toolbox talk to a facilitator to deliver. From a library topic, tap Assign, pick the project to see its crew listed by role, choose who will run the talk, and set a delivery date.
  • New "Assigned to me" tab on the Toolbox Talks page shows the talks you have been asked to deliver, with the delivery date and an overdue flag, so nothing slips.
  • The facilitator gets an email when a talk is assigned to them.
Changed
  • Every delivered toolbox talk now appears automatically in the Documents area under Meeting Minutes, alongside your safety meeting records, so all your COR evidence sits in one place.
Removed
  • The old Toolbox Talk form has been retired from Inspections & Forms and from the recommended forms set, now that talks have their own dedicated area under Safety. Any past records you already submitted are kept and still show in Meeting Minutes.
Fixed
  • When a page fails to load while you are online, it now shows a clear "Couldn’t load, try again" message instead of the misleading "not available offline yet" screen.
v2.213.0June 27, 2026

Toolbox Talks: in-depth talks, AI, and branded PDFs

A deeper talk library, AI-generated talks, photos on delivered talks, and a branded PDF export.

Added
  • Generate a toolbox talk with AI: type a topic and get a full, in-depth talk written for your business and jurisdiction, with hazards, controls, discussion questions, and takeaways. Review and edit it before saving.
  • Attach photos to a delivered talk. They are saved on the record and included in the PDF.
  • Download a branded PDF of any delivered talk, with your company logo, the talk content, attendance, and photos, matching your other reports.
  • The starter library is now a set of in-depth talks, each written to fill a real 5 to 10 minute crew discussion, with an estimated length and a short summary.
Fixed
  • The "Deliver a talk" shortcut in the sidebar now opens the deliver form reliably, even when you are already on the Toolbox Talks page.
v2.212.0June 27, 2026

Toolbox Talks

A new Toolbox Talks module: a reusable library of talks, in-field delivery with attendance, and a dated history for COR.

Added
  • New Toolbox Talks area under Safety. Build a reusable library of talk topics, or load a set of common Canadian starter topics in one tap.
  • Deliver a talk in the field: pick a topic, set the date and project, and record who attended, including subcontractors and visitors by name.
  • Every delivered talk is kept as a dated, signed-off record with its attendance and notes, ready for a COR audit. The library and history work offline.
v2.211.0June 27, 2026

Safety program dashboard

A new safety program overview on the dashboard, clearer investigation steps, and direct links into hazard registers.

Added
  • The dashboard now opens with a Safety Program overview for roles that manage safety: key metrics for inspections, observations, incidents, open corrective actions, and training compliance, with an incident trend, an incident breakdown, a training compliance gauge, and your top hazards by risk. Each card links straight to its area.
Improved
  • The clickable steps at the top of an investigation are now clearly defined as buttons, with a red highlight for the current step and the one you point at. They no longer change size or shift the page, and the effect works on touch screens.
  • Hazard register links in the Hazard Assessments folder now open the exact register and scroll straight to it.
v2.210.0June 27, 2026

Polish and fixes

A round of usability fixes across the dashboard, investigations, effectiveness reviews, and hazard assessments.

Added
  • Edit details is now available from the header of every investigation step, not just the capture page.
  • The live Hazard Assessments folder now lists the hazard registers on file, with a link straight into each register.
Improved
  • The dashboard now shows the risk level on each recent incident, matching the all-incidents view.
  • When you assign a person, their email now appears beside their name so people with the same name are easy to tell apart.
  • The investigation step bar makes it clearer that you can tap any step to revisit it.
Fixed
  • The calendar icon in date fields is now visible in dark mode.
  • Effectiveness reviews now show only the next review due for each corrective action, so the later checks stay hidden until the earlier one is completed.
v2.209.0June 24, 2026

Offline mode

TruStar Connect now works without a connection across the core field workflow.

Added
  • Offline access across the core of the app: the Dashboard, your Tasks list, the Forms list, Start a Form, filling and submitting individual forms, the Observations list, logging a new observation, the Investigations list, Corrective Actions, Effectiveness Reviews, the Hazard Register, the Training Matrix, the Equipment register, and saved documents all open and work with no connection.
  • Record a new investigation offline: capture the incident details and a scene photo with no signal. It saves on the device, confirms it is stored, and uploads automatically once you reconnect, after which you can continue to step 2.
  • Close out a corrective action offline: attach a proof photo and submit it for verification with no signal. It saves on the device and submits automatically once you reconnect.
  • Complete an effectiveness review offline: record the outcome and the check answers with no signal. It saves on the device and submits automatically once you reconnect.
  • Work captured offline, including forms, inspections, observations, and now first-stage investigations with photos, is saved on the device and uploads automatically once a connection returns.
  • The app is installable to the home screen and shows a clear banner when you are offline.
Improved
  • Forms preload automatically from any page, so crews have them ready before heading into poor-service areas.
  • Offline pages and saved data refresh themselves after each app update, with no need to clear the browser cache.
  • Faster, more reliable offline sync and app updates, more graceful handling when a page is not yet saved, and broader mobile support including iOS Chrome.
Fixed
  • The profile photo on the dashboard no longer shows a broken image when its saved link has expired; it falls back to your initials.
v2.175.0June 23, 2026

Clearer side menu

Quicker access to New Observation and Offline Files on desktop, with tidier menu highlighting.

Added
  • The desktop side menu now has a New Observation link under Observations, matching the one on mobile.
  • Offline Files now appears as a link under Documents in the desktop side menu.
Fixed
  • The side menu now highlights only the page you are on. The parent item above it shows in red text without the filled background, so there is less competing colour.
v2.171.0June 22, 2026

More reliable subscription billing updates

Subscription and billing updates from our payment provider are now processed reliably.

Fixed
  • Subscription and billing updates from our payment provider (new invoices, renewals, plan changes, and cancellations) are now received and applied reliably, so your plan status stays accurate without delay.
v2.164.0June 22, 2026

Loader and footer fixes

The route loader no longer sticks on in-page links, and the desktop footer sits flush at the bottom.

Fixed
  • Removed the excess empty space and extra scrolling below the footer on desktop. The footer now sits flush at the bottom of the page across the app and admin screens.
v2.163.0June 22, 2026

Invite and password-reset links hardened too

Invitations and password resets now use the same scanner-proof link.

Fixed
  • Invitation and password-reset links now route through the same scanner-proof confirmation page as signup, and land the recipient on the set-password screen once confirmed. This closes the same "invalid or expired" failure for invited trial users and password resets that previously only affected new signups.
v2.162.0June 22, 2026

Confirmation links that survive email scanners

Email confirmation now waits for a real click before activating.

Fixed
  • Confirmation emails sometimes failed with "link is invalid or has expired" on the first click because security scanners and email preview tools were silently opening the one-time link before the recipient could. The confirmation link now lands on a page with a Confirm button and only verifies when that button is pressed, so automated scanners no longer consume the link.
v2.161.0June 22, 2026

Reliable email verification links

Confirmation links now work on any device, with clearer errors.

Fixed
  • Email verification links now work even when opened on a different device or browser than the one used to sign up. Confirmation uses a device-independent token flow instead of one tied to the original browser session.
  • Failed or expired confirmation links now show a clear, friendly message on the sign-in screen instead of a generic error.
v2.160.0June 21, 2026

Loading animation and social share image

A branded page-loading animation, plus a new link preview image.

Added
  • A branded loading animation when moving between pages: on slower navigations, the TruStar mark draws itself over a dimmed, blurred screen so it is clear the next page is on its way. It respects reduced-motion settings and works on desktop and mobile.
Changed
  • Refreshed the social share (Open Graph) image used when a TruStar Connect link is posted to messaging apps and social media.
v2.158.0June 19, 2026

Billing guide and Knowledge Base cleanup

A new Billing section in the Knowledge Base, plus text fixes.

Added
  • A Billing and Subscription section in the Knowledge Base covering plans, the free trial, paying, changing plans, cancelling, taxes, and read-only mode.
Fixed
  • Corrected a couple of Knowledge Base articles that were showing stray characters in place of an apostrophe.
v2.157.0June 19, 2026

Subscription status and read-only mode

Clearer cancellation dates, and a proper read-only mode when a subscription lapses.

Added
  • When a subscription is set to cancel, the Billing page now shows the cancellation date instead of a renewal date.
  • When an organization has no active subscription (canceled, or an expired free trial), the workspace becomes read-only. Viewing stays available, but new submissions, edits, invites, and report generation pause until you subscribe.
Improved
  • A clearer banner explains read-only mode and how to restore full access.
v2.156.0June 19, 2026

Privacy Policy in the footer

Faster access to our policies.

Improved
  • Added a Privacy Policy link in the footer next to Terms of Service.
  • Adjusted the desktop Help button so it no longer overlaps the footer links.
v2.155.0June 19, 2026

Privacy Policy

A published privacy policy for TruStar Connect.

Added
  • Added a Privacy Policy page, linked in the site footer alongside the Terms of Service.
v2.137.0 to 2.154.0June 19, 2026

Behind-the-scenes improvements

Internal platform tooling and maintenance.

Improved
  • A series of behind-the-scenes platform improvements and maintenance. No changes to your workspace.
v2.136.0June 17, 2026

Branding and website polish

A new TruStar app icon, plus a cleaner public website on mobile.

Added
  • A TruStar star app icon for your browser tab, home screen, and installed app.
Improved
  • Tidied the public website on smaller screens, including the page footer and the investigation method section, and refreshed the platform overview with the newest modules.
v2.135.0June 17, 2026

Mobile fixes for Documents

Document folder buttons now wrap neatly on phones, and the AI SDS search box is no longer hidden behind the keyboard.

Fixed
  • The action buttons at the top of a document folder now wrap onto multiple rows on small screens instead of running off the edge, so Upload is always reachable.
  • The AI SDS search window is now centered so the search box stays visible above the on-screen keyboard, and no longer triggers password or contact autofill suggestions.
v2.134.0June 17, 2026

AI SDS search

Find Safety Data Sheets by chemical or product name and import the PDF straight into your SDS folder.

Added
  • AI SDS search in the Safety Data Sheets folder: search a chemical or product, review candidate sheets with their manufacturer and revision date, and import the PDF into your library in one step.
  • Imported sheets are filed in the SDS folder with the manufacturer, revision, and source recorded, so they stay searchable.
v2.133.0June 17, 2026

A Safety Data Sheets folder and a tidier Compliance menu

A default SDS folder for your Safety Data Sheets, and the Compliance menu is simpler.

Added
  • A default Safety Data Sheets (SDS) folder in the COR starter folders, for storing every product SDS your organization uses. Upload your own SDS files into it like any other document folder.
Removed
  • The Certifications and Audits coming-soon items were removed from the Compliance menu. Certification and training tracking lives in Training and the training matrix.
v2.132.0June 17, 2026

Crew readiness

A project-scoped view of who is cleared to work today, beside the training matrix, with a dashboard alert.

Added
  • Crew Readiness: for each project, see who is ready, expiring, or not ready against that project’s role and project training requirements, with the gating courses listed.
  • A Crew readiness link beside the Matrix under Training, and a button on the training page.
  • A Crew readiness tile on the dashboard for owners, admins, managers, and supervisors when someone is not cleared for their current project.
v2.131.0June 17, 2026

Project training on My Profile and tidier collapsing

Your project-specific required training now shows on My Profile, the training section there collapses, and organization settings opens with its first section expanded.

Added
  • Project-Specific Required Training now appears on your My Profile page, alongside your role requirements.
Improved
  • The training section on My Profile is now collapsible and starts collapsed for a cleaner page.
  • Organization settings now opens with the first section expanded so the page is not empty at a glance.
v2.130.0June 17, 2026

Training gap chasing, a My Tasks training area, and role vs project on the matrix

Missing or expiring required training now becomes a task with one combined email, the My Tasks page separates training from corrective actions, and the matrix shows whether each requirement comes from a role or a project.

Added
  • Training gap chasing: when a required ticket is missing or expiring within 30 days, it becomes a training task automatically.
  • One combined email per worker that lists every missing or expiring required course at once, sent to the worker and their supervisor.
  • New workers get a short grace period to upload their required tickets before tasks are raised.
  • A dedicated Training to complete area on the My Tasks page, separate from your corrective actions.
  • The training matrix and its Excel export now mark whether each requirement comes from the worker’s role or from a project.
Improved
  • Matrix is now a quick link directly under Training in the sidebar.
v2.129.0June 17, 2026

Project-specific training and a tidier settings page

Define the training a project or site requires, see it on the matrix and your training page, and open organization settings one section at a time.

Added
  • Project-Specific Training: set the courses a project or site requires, layered on top of each worker’s role requirements.
  • A Project-Specific Required Training section on your training page that reflects your current project assignment.
  • Project requirements now appear in the training matrix alongside role requirements.
Improved
  • Organization settings sections now collapse, so you can open just the area you want to work on.
v2.128.0June 16, 2026

Terms of Service, a hazard risk guide, and a cleaner users page

A Terms of Service page and footer on every page, a risk matrix guide on the hazard register, and a tidier users list.

Added
  • A Terms of Service page, linked from the footer on every page and from the trial sign-up.
  • A Risk Matrix Guide button on the hazard register that opens the same severity and likelihood reference used in incident investigations.
  • A small footer on every page with the current copyright and a link to the Terms of Service.
Improved
  • The Users page now shows active members by default, with deactivated users moved into their own tab.
v2.127.0June 16, 2026

Polished confirmation pop-ups

Confirmation dialogs now fade in over a dimmed background with a consistent, subtle entrance.

Improved
  • Confirmation pop-ups, such as deleting an asset or removing a maintenance record, now appear over a dimmed background with a smooth entrance animation, for a consistent feel across the app.
v2.126.0June 16, 2026

Form submit at the bottom, tidier mobile layout, and a scrolling fix

A Submit button at the end of every inspection, a cleaner asset header on phones, a styled delete confirmation, and no more empty scrolling.

Added
  • Inspection forms now have a Submit button at the bottom as well as the top, so you no longer have to scroll back up to finish.
Improved
  • The Maintenance and Repairs heading on the asset page is no longer cramped on phones, with the open count shown as a chip and a full-width Add Record button.
  • Deleting an asset now opens a clear, styled confirmation rather than a plain browser prompt.
Fixed
  • Removed the extra empty scrolling space that appeared below the content on phones and tablets across the app.
v2.125.0June 16, 2026

Do Not Operate warning for vehicles without current paperwork

Inspectors are stopped when a vehicle has no current registration or insurance, and renewal dates now sit beside their documents.

Added
  • When a vehicle being inspected has no current registration or insurance, missing or past its renewal date, the inspector is shown a prominent Do Not Operate warning to stop and report it to their supervisor. The inspection can still be submitted to record the issue.
Improved
  • In the asset editor, each registration and insurance renewal date now sits next to its document, making it clearer what is on file and when it expires.
v2.124.0June 16, 2026

Vehicle documents and a cleaner mobile layout

Keep registration and insurance with each vehicle, and a redesigned register and asset view on phones.

Added
  • Vehicle assets can keep a photo of their registration and insurance documents, taken with the camera or uploaded, opened any time from the asset page.
Improved
  • The equipment register and asset details have a redesigned mobile layout, with the asset list shown as clear cards instead of a wide table.
  • The asset photo and document pickers now offer separate Take Photo and Upload buttons.
v2.123.0June 16, 2026

Recurring service and a maintenance metric

Services reschedule themselves, deficiencies link to their inspection, and managers see open work on the dashboard.

Added
  • Completing a service lets you enter the current odometer or hour reading, which schedules the next service automatically from the asset’s interval, so preventive maintenance keeps recurring on its own.
  • You can now attach or take a photo when you log a maintenance record by hand, with separate Take Photo and Upload Photo buttons.
  • Deficiencies in the maintenance queue and on an asset link straight to the inspection that raised them.
  • Managers and up now see an open maintenance count on the dashboard so equipment work does not go unnoticed.
Changed
  • Managers can now add and edit equipment assets. Viewers and workers can view the full asset register but cannot make changes.
v2.122.0June 16, 2026

Maintenance queue

A single cross-asset queue for every open repair, deficiency, service, and renewal.

Added
  • A new Maintenance section under Operations gathers every open repair, deficiency, service-due, and renewal across all assets into one queue, filterable by status, type, and assignee, and searchable by item or asset.
  • Items can be completed straight from the queue, with the same closure note and photo, and overdue items are highlighted.
Changed
  • The complete window now has separate Take Photo and Upload Photo buttons.
  • The Fleet placeholder has been removed; vehicles are managed in Equipment & Assets and their work appears in Maintenance.
