The fleet map

Where every unit with a device last reported from, and how long ago that was true.

Fleet → Fleet Map puts every unit with a telematics device on one map. Hover a marker to see the unit, the driver, the town it is near and how fast it is going. Pick a unit from the list beside the map and the map flies to it.

These are last known positions, not a live feed

A device reports when it reports. A unit parked overnight, sitting in a tunnel or with the ignition off keeps the position it last sent, and that position stays perfectly valid while getting older. That is why every marker is coloured by the age of its own fix and every row says how long ago — a dot that stopped being true at breakfast must not look like one from a minute ago.

Finding things

The search box covers unit numbers, unit names, driver names, equipment types and the town each unit is near. Searching an address is usually the fastest way to answer “who is closest”.

Filter by country, by province or state, by whether the unit is moving, and by how fresh the position is. Only the places you actually have units in appear in the list, so a carrier running two provinces does not get a dropdown of thirteen.

Keeping it current

Refresh positions asks your fleet system where everything is at that moment. Positions also come down with the overnight sync, so the map has something on it when you arrive — but overnight data is old by morning, so press Refresh when it matters.

A unit only appears if it has a device matched to it. The counts at the top tell you how many units have a device but no position yet, and how many have no device at all, so an incomplete map is visibly incomplete rather than quietly wrong.

Who can see it

Owners, admins, managers and investigators. Workers and viewers do not see the fleet map — a worker able to watch every colleague’s location is tracking people, not managing a fleet.
