H2S Awareness

Know where hydrogen sulphide is found, what it does to you, how gas detection works, and what to do when the alarm sounds, in about 55 minutes.

  • 55 min
  • Online, on a phone or a computer
  • Professionally narrated
  • Certificate, valid 36 months
H2S Awareness covers what every worker who could meet hydrogen sulphide should know: what it is and where it is found, from gas plants and wellsites to manure pits and sewer lift stations, what it does to the body, and the three myths that get people hurt. It explains exposure limits in every Canadian jurisdiction, the supplier label and safety data sheet, gas monitors and bump tests, controls and respiratory protection, and what to do when the alarm sounds. You practise spotting hazards at real-looking worksites, work through an emergency scenario, check your understanding after each module, and finish with a 20-question exam. Pass with 80% and your certificate is issued right away, valid for 36 months. Every screen is narrated, with captions and a full transcript. This course provides general awareness of hydrogen sulphide (H2S). It does not replace H2S Alive (Energy Safety Canada), respirator fit testing, SCBA training, or your employer's site-specific training.
