Fall Protection Awareness covers what every worker who could fall at work should know: why falls hurt people even from a short height, where fall hazards hide, and the order of protection, from removing the hazard and guarding edges and openings to travel restraint and, last of all, fall arrest. It explains each part of a personal fall arrest system, from the anchor and the full-body harness to lanyards and self-retracting lifelines, why clearance and swing falls matter, how the work is planned and the equipment inspected, how to work safely on ladders, scaffolds, elevated work platforms and roofs, and why rescue has to be planned before anyone goes up, with the differences between Canadian jurisdictions shown where they matter.
You practise spotting hazards on a re-roofing job, find answers in a real-looking fall protection plan, make the calls when a worker falls on a steel structure, check your understanding after each module, and finish with a 20-question exam. Pass with 80% and your certificate is issued right away, valid for 36 months. Every screen is narrated, with captions and a full transcript.
This course provides general awareness of fall hazards and fall protection. It does not replace practical fall protection or working at heights training, or your employer's site-specific training.
