Confined Space Awareness

Know what makes a space a confined space, why they kill without warning, the controls that come before entry, how the air is tested, and who does what when something goes wrong, in about 55 minutes.

  • 55 min
  • Online, on a phone or a computer
  • Professionally narrated
  • Certificate, valid 36 months
Confined Space Awareness covers what every worker near tanks, pits, manholes, silos, vaults and bins should know: what makes a space a confined space, and why the air inside, engulfment and the shape of the space itself can kill within moments. It explains the controls that come before anyone goes in, from hazard assessment, isolation and ventilation to the entry permit, how the air is tested and kept under watch, and the roles of the entrant, the attendant and the rescue team, with the differences between Canadian jurisdictions shown where they matter. You practise spotting hazards at a city vault, find answers on a real-looking entry permit, make the calls as an attendant in a tank cleaning scenario, check your understanding after each module, and finish with a 20-question exam. Pass with 80% and your certificate is issued right away, valid for 36 months. Every screen is narrated, with captions and a full transcript. This course provides general awareness of confined spaces. It does not replace confined space entry, gas monitoring, attendant or rescue training, or your employer's site-specific training.
